The Chapel Center is a vibrant and active community, involved with many ministries and programs which exist to serve God’s people at any stage of their life: the young, those who know their faith, those who are still seeking it, those who need help living it; and those who are not Christian. Many volunteers are active helping the less fortunate in many different ways. Look here for information on the wide array of the Chapel Center’s parish ministries, and how to volunteer.
WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?
Elizabeth Ministry – The visit of the Blessed Mother Mary to her cousin Elizabeth is our model and inspiration. We visit pregnant and new moms and women in need, to offer practical and spiritual support during childbearing and adopting years.
Engaged Encounter – In March and November. Spiritual and practical preparation for marriage.
Welcome Ministry – At the end of Mass we welcome visitors and new parishioners to the parish and bid sayonara to departing parishioners.
Orphan Ministry - We help children from two Tokyo orphanages. We have fun taking them to an amusement park, hosting a Christmas party at FCC, and taking the seniors to a baseball game. We offer financial assistance to graduating seniors.
Rice Program
Rice Program – We make rice cakes for 175 homeless in Shibuya 365 days a year. This may be the only meal they get all day. Takes 1 ½ hours once a week. A great opportunity for fellowship.
Rice Delivery – Early, daily delivery of rice cakes to homeless. Ideal for those who want to be Christ for others—and enjoy the dawn!
NOURISHING THE SOUL & ENLIGHTENING THE MIND
